David Martland is a member of Messrs. Nixon Peabody’s Business Group. His practice is concentrated in the areas of private and public companies, private equity investments, and antitrust. Mr. Martland counsels private and public companies on the full range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, company formation, restructurings, financings, complex contracts, licensing matters, and major joint ventures. He also represents a variety of venture capital and leveraged buyout funds in connection with their investments. Till Vestring

Till Vestring is the Managing Partner of Bain & Company's SE Asia practice. He joined Bain in Munich in 1990 and has spent the last 15 years in Asia working in Bain's offices in Singapore, Sydney, Hong Kong and Tokyo. He has worked extensively with SE Asian companies and with multinationals on M&A, merger integration, strategy and full potential programs. As the former head of the firm's global Merger Integration practice, he has deep experience in making mergers and acquisitions work. As the former head of the firm's Global Merger Integration Practice, Mr. Vestring also has deep experience in making mergers and acquisitions work. Earlier in his career, Mr. Vestring was an analyst with Mark Producing. He earned an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkley and a Master's in Economics from the University of Bonn in Germany. His research on low cost manufacturing strategies and merger integration has been published in the Wall Street Journal Asia, Financial Times, Harvard Management Update, European Business Forum and Business Times Singapore.

Mohd Khairil Kevin

Mohd Khairil Kevin is a Kuala Lumpur based partner of Bain & Company’s SE Asia practice. He has more than 12 years of consulting experience working out of Bain’s offices in Singapore, San Francisco, Munich and Sydney. At Bain, Khairil is focused on supporting Private Equity and Sovereign Wealth Funds, active investors and strategic buyers across the region on their M&A strategy, commercial due diligence, post acquisition turnaround and merger integration. He has a built a track record of leading a number of successful merger integration efforts across the region. Prior to joining Bain, Khairil was a consultant at Coopers & Lybrand, Management Consulting Services and an associate with a consulting firm in London. Khairil holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD and is a graduate from the University of Cambridge, where he earned his M. Eng. in Manufacturing and a B.A. in Engineering.

Datuk Mohd Anwar Yahya is the Senior Executive Director of Advisory Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia. A chartered accountant by profession, he has more than 30 years of work experience in the government, commerce and consulting sectors. Anwar’s major work exposures are in the areas of corporate strategy, national policies, business restructuring and corporate finance. Anwar joined PwC in 1991 initially to head an IT practice of the consultancy arm. In 1993, he assumed overall leadership for the management consultancy practice and subsequently he became the partner-in-charge of the Corporate Finance Group within the firm. He is currently the Head of the Corporate Finance & Recovery Practice in Malaysia. Anwar has extensive experience in Corporate Finance work and especially in Mergers and Acquisitions work.

Jacques Pickering

Jacques Pickering is the Executive Director of Pickering Pacific Pte Ltd. In this capacity, he directs the overall operations of Pickering Pacific and acts as its principal consultant. Before setting up Pickering Pacific in 2004, Jacques had worked on more than 50 M&A transactions. From 2000 to 2003 Jacques worked in senior M&A and financial roles for the H.J. Heinz Company, a U.S.-based Fortune 500 company. He first worked at Heinz World Headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (U.S.) as General Manager in charge of Portfolio Planning and Analysis, and then in Melbourne (Australia) as Director, Planning & Business Development for Heinz Australasia. In both of these roles, he worked on the business and financial aspects of numerous M&A transactions in the U.S., Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. From 1991 to 1998, Jacques worked as a lawyer for Clifford Chance, one of the world’s largest business law firms. He was initially based in Clifford Chance’s Paris office before transferring to London. While at Clifford Chance, he worked on many M&A projects in various European countries and in Africa, and on financing and commercial transactions.

Marie-Laure Caille

Marie-Laure Caille is a Director with Pickering Pacific. She started working with Pickering Pacific at the end of 2005. Prior to joining the firm, Marie-Laure worked as a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group (BCG); she was based in Jakarta and worked in Southeast Asia. Prior to that, she was an economist with the United Nations Support Facility for Indonesian Recovery (UNSFIR), a system-wide UN facility set up to undertake strategic thinking on Indonesia’s recovery and provide technical support to the UN System in Jakarta. She started her career as a research assistant for the Trade Directorate of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). In addition to working for Pickering Pacific, Marie-Laure has taught micro and macro-economics and corporate finance at SIM University (Singapore), and microeconomics for the University of London External Program in Singapore. Marie-Laure holds an MSc from the London School of Economics in Development Studies with a concentration in Economics. She is a CFA charter-holder.

Simon Taskunas is a Partner in the Banking & Projects group of the Australian-headquartered international law firm, Freehills. Initially based in the firm’s Perth Western Australia office, Simon was seconded to Freehills’ Singapore office during 2000-2002 and has been permanently based in Singapore since June 2006. He assists multinational clients undertaking foreign investment projects throughout Asia, the Middle East and Australia. With a particular specialisation in corporate real estate and investment, Simon also represents international clients in cross-border M&A transactions in other sectors including infrastructure and resources. Recent projects have included advising an institutional property fund on the structuring of an unlisted, Singapore-domiciled fund for investing throughout 10 countries in Asia and India, the Macquarie consortium on its bid for the Singapore Sports & Leisure Infrastructure PPP, and numerous clients on cross-border M&A and joint venture transactions in the manufacturing, insurance, telecommunications, energy and resources, and property sectors.
