Azmi Mohd Ali is the senior partner of Azmi & Associates, a corporate and commercial-based law firm, in Kuala Lumpur. He has been in active practice since 1990 after serving as in-house counsel for PETRONAS. Azmi is an experienced corporate lawyer with expertise in areas such as mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructuring, project finance, debt restructuring, energy, oil and gas. His vast skills and experience in the areas of corporate law in Malaysia are well noted and acknowledged by various international publications including the Asia Law Profiles and Asia Legal Business. Every edition of Legal 500 for the past several years recognizes him as a leading corporate lawyer in Malaysia. He is a fellow of the Centre of International Legal Studies which based in Salzburg, Austria. In 2007, Azmi served as the only lawyer in the Synergy Drive’s Mergers Integration Committee for Malaysia’s largest ever corporate merger.

Lutfi graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia with an LL.B (Hons.) in 1995. He spent the term of his pupilage with Messrs Allen & Gledhill and was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1996. Lutfi has also obtained his professional qualification from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and graduated from the Institute in February 1996. He joined Messrs Hisham, Sobri & Kadir in Aprill 1996 and had advised various clients in numerous exercises ranging from private debt securities, syndicated financing, structured & project financing, privatization and build-operate-transfer/build-operate-own projects including water privatization, mergers & acquisitions, energy & power related transactions, oil & gas, joint ventures to telecommunication projects and building contracts. He became a partner of Hisham Sobri & Kadir Advocates & Solicitors in January 2000. He is a founding partner of Azmi & Associates.
